Your Thanksgiving Look Inside

Your Thanksgiving Look Inside

It's almost that time of year... the Superbowl of holidays... Thanksgiving! Christmas is arguably the Superbowl of holidays for most, but for me it's Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Growing up we would spend the holiday at my Grandmother's apartment in the Bronx, NY. The drive down to NYC from upstate New York was always filled with excitement. I have always loved the hustle and bustle of NYC.

Being half Puerto Rican, our Thanksgiving menu looked a bit different. For us, there were no mashed potatoes, no green bean casserole... It was turkey, Puerto Rican bread, baked sweet potatoes and arroz con gandules (rice and beans). My grandmother always made the best arroz con gandules and I always went back for seconds, even thirds. It is definitely one of my favorite foods of all time. Aside from the menu, you never knew what or who to expect on Thanksgiving as my grandmother's apartment door was always open to anyone wanting a plate. She was known for her cooking, it was the best in the neighborhood. The table was always packed, the apartment was always hot and loud, and the food was always delicious.

Thanksgiving holds such a special place in my heart, which is why I love hosting and feel so honored to get to do so. I love creating elaborate tablescapes and opening my home for everyone to come together. Fortunately, Mark's cousin Margaret married a Puerto Rican man and she has mastered arroz con gandules from his family. With a little begging, she now makes the rice for our celebration and once again, it feels like it did growing up. The house is hot and loud, and the food is fantastic.

When it comes to getting dressed for Thanksgiving, I always wear a dress. I personally think dresses are most comfortable and love that they're forgiving when you've eaten all the things. In this week's catalog I've styled 12 looks for you, perfect for Thanksgiving and any other Fall party that pops up on your calendar. One of the looks is nearly identical to what I'll be wearing on Thanksgiving... can you guess which one it is?!

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving, filled with love and gratitude.
