One Dress, Three Ways
You’ve heard it before, its not about how much clothes you have, its about the quality of the clothes you have. I’ll take that one step further, and say that it’s about what clothes you have. When you have a balance of essentials and statement pieces in your closet, you can make countless outfits. Speaking of essentials, have you downloaded the ’12 Closet Essentials to Maximize your Wardrobe’ guide yet? Today I wanted to put my list to the test and show you how I styled the same black dress, three different ways for three different occasions- all using items off the essentials guide.
LBD + White Blouse + Pump = Desk
Ok, so the shoes are really mules in this situation, but you get it. I love layering underneath a garment. I find it less expected. You could easily layer a cardigan or blazer over this dress, but I love the white blouse layered underneath to keep it interesting.
LBD + Statement Piece (s) = Drinks
Choosing an LBD that is versatile is key. If you are trying to get the most out of one dress, stick with a classic shape and minimal embellishments. You can add jewelry to replace embellishments or add a belt to change the waistline. In this dress, the slit on the side is just enough to keep this dress work appropriate, but paired with over the knee boots it looks sexy.
LBD + Denim Jacket + Statement Piece = Errands
Pair the same dress with sneakers and a denim jacket to make it perfect for drop off and errands.
