Can you see post quarantine life yet? Can you smell it yet? Can you feel it yet? I don’t know about you, but I’m there. The weather is changing, we opened our pool, local boutiques that were closed are doing curbside… oh, and umm DSW opened (for curbside, but still)!!! Maybe all this pollen in the air is getting to me, but hey, I’m gonna ride this optimism train.
You’ve heard it before, its not about how much clothes you have, its about the quality of the clothes you have. I’ll take that one step further, and say that it’s about what clothes you have. When you have a balance of essentials and statement pieces in your closet, you can make countless outfits. So in a social distancing attempt to re-center the women of America, we were given a chance to engage in retail therapy. One might argue that it has the same great effect on the soul.
The Closet Audit service might be my favorite service I offer. I sometimes hear from other image consultants that they don’t like going out to clients’ closets. That its a lot, and that its work they don’t really want to do. Is it a lot? Sure. Its 4 hours of you and I in your closet together, trying on clothes and making piles that tell a garment’s destiny- keep, discard, donate, tailor.
Zoom has become the new conference room, your dining room table your new cubicle, your kids have become your co-workers, and someone swapped out all the pens and staplers in the supply cabinet with chips and Cheetos. With all of us working from home, we have relied on Zoom as a way for us to connect, which is great, but for some, we’re bringing less flattering versions of ourselves. Here are my tips for how to present the best version of yourself to the virtual conference room.
