Shopping for Self-Care? Yes, Please!

Shopping for Self-Care? Yes, Please!

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the needs and expectations of others. Whether it’s in our personal relationships, professional life, or social circles, we often find ourselves prioritizing the well-being of others over our own. However, the concept of “filling up your own cup first” is a crucial principle for maintaining balance, health, and fulfillment in our lives.

The benefits of prioritizing self-care can be linked to improved mental health, increased productivity, better relationships and enhanced physical health.

While wardrobe and shopping is certainly what I do, it is also part of my self-care. So on a recent trip to NYC with another stylist, a full day of shopping and browsing the beautiful pre-fall collections of my favorite designers, left me with a very full cup.

Similar to a try on session with a client, we found ourselves carefully planning out the different ways we could style the items we tried on. Making sure you can style a garment in multiple ways is something - and not just black pants and denim- that is critical to creating a versatile wardrobe.

As I look forward to Fall fashions and upcoming try on sessions, I’m aware that it’s still very much Summer. So thinking about how items can be styled for multiple seasons is top of mind for me. This week I’ve designed another collection of looks showing you how you can style the garment for both Summer and Fall.

I hope that you’re all enjoying your Summer! And if you haven’t had a chance to ‘fill your cup’ yet this Summer, know that it doesn’t have to be earned. You’re worthy of treating yourself to a day of shopping, a trip to the theater… anything of your fancy just as you are.
