What I Learned on my Beach Vacation
I recently took a trip with my in-laws and my mother-in law's entire extended family to Sea Isle, NJ. My hubs had to work during the week, so it was just me and Tessa joining the mix.
I had met everyone prior to this week, but most just at a surface level. Choosing to spend the entire week with them gave me an opportunity to get to know this side of the family better and on a deeper level.
I knew going into it we would have a good week. Tessa and I love the beach, I have great in-laws and I knew that the rest of the family were all great people, but boy was I surprised at how amazing it ended up being.
I went into the week with no expectations and no plans other than to be open and intentional about developing relationships. I truly wanted to get to know this side of the family who lives out of state and quite a distance. I listened to their stories and discussions of their values and found so many common interests. I watched as Tessa formed bonds with cousins that she had never met before. I lived in the moment, unplugged from socials, focusing on the present. That week we honored the family that we had lost and celebrated all that could make the trip, and laughed SO SO HARD. Each day we stayed up late, usually eating ice cream and laughing, and woke early to do it all over again. In the end, I left that week with a heart so full it still makes me tear up.
That week I learned that listening is far more fulfilling than talking. That friendships can emerge when you least expect it. That opening your mind and heart can truly open your whole being to possibilities you can't even imagine. To say this week was a summer highlight is an understatement.
I can relate this to your wardrobe... knowing that trying new styles can open your eyes to learning more about yourself. I have seen this so many times with my clients when I put them in new styles and silhouettes. That being thoughtful and intentional with your style and wardrobe can lead to greater opportunities you can't even see yet. I have personally seen clients get promotions, boosts in confidence, and find a new sense of self (just to name a few), just from a change in their wardrobe. If you're reading this as someone who finds yourself being super critical of yourself, compares herself to others, has trouble being present because you're stuck in your head, or skips events due to outfit fatigue, know that all hope is not lost. If you're reading this as someone who is ready for new opportunities, is ready to be on the receiving end of compliments, is ready to stand taller, smile more and start her day with confidence and clarity I'd love to work with you this Fall! I'm booking Fall appointments now; schedule a consultation here.

I hope you all are having an amazing summer, one filled with time unplugged and plenty of laughter. Oh, and a special thank you to my in-laws for sharing their vacation with us :)
