Growing up I remember my mom and I used to shop for back to school clothes literally all summer long. Do you all remember the Limited Too?!

We'd casually shop all summer and pick up pieces on the sale rack. This was my first experience with transitional styling... looking for items from the sale rack that could also be worn in Fall for back to school. I grew up living modestly, so this was how my parents could afford a lot of things for me.

Just before the summer would come to a close, we'd take inventory of what we got and pick up the last few items I needed. My mom always made sure I looked neat and put together for school, teaching me how to get dressed and the importance of ironing was also her way of teaching me how to look polished.

Back to school is always a hectic time and while in NJ we still have the rest of August, I know there are a lot of schools that are already gearing up to go back.

This week, I've pulled together looks for children and teens of all ages with the hopes of taking something off the plates of all my busy moms out there :). And because us moms often can't resist a new piece or two for ourselves, let this be your reminder to take inventory of your wardrobe staples. As we go into Fall, it's easy to get distracted by all the new styles, but it's important to make sure you have the wardrobe basics to support those styles.
