Be Kind.
Hi! I missed you guys! It has been a bit, but please know I’ve been thinking of you all!
When I was thinking about what to present to you all this week, this month, even this year I was, well, sorta stumped. There are so many heavy things going on, do we need a blog to discuss new tops or the best jeans? And the more I thought about it, the more I realized, yes! Definitely yes!
In order to improve and move on from some of those heavy things we’ve been faced with, we all need to show up as the best versions of ourselves. I have seen so many people with resolutions of ‘be a better person’, doesn’t that includes your style and image? The effects of feeling good about ourselves is proven. We can all agree that we are nicer, happier and more confident when we like our outfit. So, what if 2021 was the year you decided to change it all for the good, be that better person with an elevated, more stylish wardrobe and image?
In the midst of some deep thinking while driving, I noticed a billboard as I was leaving Philadelphia the other night with such a simple message.
Be Kind.
How could a message so simple pack so much punch? How does it relate to style? How does it relate to that cliche resolution of being a better person? While being kind to others is the most obvious interpretation and is certainly important, I want to focus on how we can be kind to ourselves. How can we be better to others if we don’t start with ourselves? If you have worked with me before, you have definitely heard me say, ‘That {insert any article of clothing} isn’t doing you justice.’ So in this instance, being kind to yourself, means choosing the best styles that flatter you, choosing the colors that make you radiate and glow and finding a personal style that feels authentic and amazing to YOU. Being kind to yourself and outfitting yourself with an amazing coat of armour will allow the best version of yourself to show up and shine, everyday.
I know, sometimes that’s easier said than done. We all fall in a rut, get comfortable, and give in to what we know. But by choosing pieces that don’t do yourself justice aren’t you in turn being unkind to yourself? I’m sure unkind thoughts flow through your head when you don’t feel your best. And frankly, I think its unkind of you to hide yourself in unflattering clothes and not let us all revel in your glory.
So what now? Well, Rome wasn’t built in a day and transforming your style and image maybe a work in progress, but each day you put that best foot forward, you’re making just that… progress. I have fun things in store to help you, but of course, if you want that personalized attention that we all crave contact me to see if we’re a good fit! Be it a custom color analysis, personal shopping curated just for you or a closet audit, I got you girl. And remember, be kind to yourself.
