Coronacation Fashion Checklist
Seriously. What is going on right now? At first, because I am not a worrier, like AT ALL, I wasn’t really worried about all that is happening right now. I think about to other times when I’ve talked to my mom about something serious and I would say, ‘EH, I dunno Ma, I’m just not worried about it.’ Her response would be, ‘WELL, you should be.’
Granted then, we weren’t under a pandemic. FAIR.
But I don’t know, it’s just not in my nature to worry. You can call it ignorance. But I would prefer to say ignorance is bliss. I think back to when I was pregnant. I wanted nothing to do about with reading any of the pregnancy books or blogs and just trusted that the doctors would lead me in the right direction. Worrying about the worst case scenario, for me, is the worst case scenario. I’m an optimist. I trust the Universe. I love life and those I surround myself with. So as a result, I think we will all pull out from all this Corona $H!T.
The three of us have been home since Sunday. I’ve tried creating a written schedule for Tessa, but honestly, I’m 2 days in and I’m wondering who needs this schedule more, me or her? I thrive on schedules, I’m type A, I can’t help it. But through all this crazy, apocalypse type situation we’ve gotten ourselves in, I’ve got a list of things to do in the meantime. Things where if you have an hour to yourself, or if you NEED an hour to yourself and have to put TV on for your kiddos, you can do these few things and feel better.
Define your own style, read a magazine. If you have any magazines at home, why not sit down with a glass of coffee (or wine, no judgement here even if it’s 9am) and flip through those pages to see what you resonate with. Any page that makes your eyes see glitter or heart skip a beat, fold the page down. At the end, you can go back and see all the pages you folded down. If you’re struggling with your own personal style, this will help to identify commonalities. You can do this on Pinterest too if you don’t have any magazines. Take anything you’ve learned about yourself into item #2.
Edit your closet. If you follow me on social, you know that I just did a major purge. Holding on to things you don’t love, that don’t fit into your desired image, or don’t actually fit, serve you no justice. Let me say that again. Holding on to things you don’t love, that don’t fit into your desired image, or don’t actually fit, serve you no justice. In fact, it clutters your morning and can even negatively impact your mood. No one said you have to do it all at once, maybe just pop in there and look through your tops and save the rest for another day. Too much? Text me, I got you girl (virtual services can be performed during social distancing!).
Plan your family’s photoshoot. We are all going to come out of this Corona quarantine, and based on the history of my Facebook feed, I know that a lot of you have Spring and Summer photoshoots. Local photographers would love something to look forward to, and the spring clothing lines are out online. So, why not book your shoot and plan what your family is wearing now?
Other luxury list items? Any shutterfly/photo printing project, creating a summer playlist, re-organizing pantry/fridge (did that Monday!), any other home cleaning/organizing project, starting a workout regimen, or calling old friends.
If none of these items interest you, fine. But I encourage you to find something that you have been wanting to do and tackle it. We may not be able to control what is happening around us, but we can control our own bubbles. We distract our children when they’re upset with snacks and games, why not distract yourself with luxury list items and wine??
