Spring's Hottest Colors

Spring's Hottest Colors

Right now, you're either one of two women... the one who is excited about this blog's subject line and wants to hear all about the new Spring colors; or the one who contemplated even opening this because wearing anything beyond a lighter shade of black gives you anxiety.

If you've followed me for a while, you know that I love to experiment with color, but I will admit, that wasn't always the case. When I moved to NYC in 2010 the #allblackeverything bug bit me. Something about NYC and the all black uniform... fast forward to about 2018 and I still found myself gravitating towards black, but to be honest, I was getting sick of it. My wardrobe felt neutral... like it no longer sparked excitement. Sure I still felt stylish... yes I loved my clothes... but I didn't feel like I had pieces that instantly put a smile on my face.

The number one thing that changed my perspective on wearing color was getting a color analysis. I have been certified in color analysis twice actually! The second time around was to learn advanced color theory to offer a more in depth service to my clients. The common thing I hear from clients after having a color analysis is the clarity it provides when shopping and getting dressed. It's easy to default to black when shopping because the color choices are overwhelming! Learning your ideal colors also provides direction with your wardrobe. Another common mistake I see with clients choosing colors is that they'll pick up a garment in [fill in the blank with any color] because they don't have anything that color. I understand that mindset, but you also could be setting yourself up to never wear the item because you have nothing to go with it.\

So next time you're in need of a pick me up... find your brightest, happiest hue and wear it with confidence! That is one of the things I love about color... It has the power to evoke emotion! Like how can you be sad with a bright buttery yellow hue?! This week I'm showing you fresh new color combinations for Spring! The Pantone Spring 2025 colors are gorgeous and when paired together can be so fun! Shop the Spring color edit here
