Stylish AND Practical Footwear Inside

Stylish AND Practical Footwear Inside

When it comes to footwear and having to choose fashion over function, the gap seems to be narrowing with the growing popularity of flats. Flats, even sneakers are becoming more and more the footwear of choice for designers and women alike. Personally, I love the practicality of wearing a flat and so do my feet!

When it comes to the trends of Spring 2025, looks are all about elevated ease, blending comfort with polished, fashion-forward details. The return of ballet flats, fisherman sandals, jellies, sporty sneakers, and sleek loafers is making it easier than ever to embrace effortless, trend-driven style.

With wearing flats, I often hear from my clients that they just don't feel sexy in them. I can completely relate, but I do think that flats serve a purpose in everyone's wardrobe and when styled correctly, can feel sexy. If you're in the market for a new pair of flats, here are a few tips:

1. When in doubt, go timeless. A pointed toe, leather flat is the most timeless silhouette when it comes to a flat. If you're someone who doesn't wear flats much but is looking to add one to their wardrobe they can wear on occasion year after year, this is a great style to get. The pointed toe will help to elongate the leg, so if you're someone who doesn't feel sexy in flats, try one with a pointed toe.

2. Skip faux leather. Flats can be tricky sometimes and rub on your feet in odd spots. A genuine leather or suede is going to mold to your foot, offer more comfort and last longer.

3.Wear a flat as a transitional shoe. A flat is the perfect choice as we enter into Spring. It is a perfect transitional shoe from a boot to a sandal.

4. Invest in a stylish sneaker. I love pairing a sneaker with everything from denim to a dress, even a trouser. A stylish sneaker is so useful for everyday and travel. A pair that is free of debris and has a lower profile (not chunky like a dad sneaker) is easy to style!

5. Keep heel pads on hand. I love these! They keep me from slipping out of flats and add an extra cushion to prevent rubbing! I've even used them inside a shoe to protect my pinky toe.

In this week's looks you'll see cues taken from Vogue, Who What Wear, and the latest runways, to wear flats this season—without sacrificing style.
