Does it Suit You?
Summer has arrived (yay!) which means all sorts of outdoor activities… typically ones that usually involve water. Yup, its bathing suit season! Are you cringing? Or worse yet, thinking about all the ways you can starve yourself before you actually have to wear one? Well, stop. While it’s never too late to work on yourself physically, I’m here to help promote all the #positivevibes and get you ready for the summer even if you think your body isn’t. And that’s just it… it’s a thought. You can, and will, rock that bathing suit this summer! And with these next tips, you’ll do it with a lot less stress.
Order online. Say what? Yup. Right now, that’s probably a more favorable option given our current situation, have you seen those parking lots?! Ordering online allows you to try on in the comfort of your own home, without having to deal with bad lighting, other customers or sales people. There’s no one waiting for you to come out of the fitting room and report back on how they fit or having to get completely dressed again to get another size. If online shopping makes you anxious, look for sites that have free shipping and returns so if feels completely non-committal. I’ve ordered suits Macys, Nordstrom, and H&M this season all with free shipping and returns.
Focus on the good. What do you love about yourself? We are so quick to point out what we don’t like, so I encourage you to pinpoint what you do like about your body. Blessed with a chest? Find a suit that shows those girls off. Have a booty to make the Kardashians jealous? Wear bottoms that are a Brazilian cut. Toned arms and shoulders? A racerback high neck suit will put them on display. Print is also an easy way to draw the eye in. If its your top half you want to play up, wear a top in a print to make it the focal point and vice versa if its your bottom half you’re wanting to focus on.
Think about your body type. It seems that most of us can shop for clothing with some sort of knowledge about our body type. We often know what necklines flatter us best, or if you need petite pants. But somehow we feel as if we have to throw all that out and start over for a bathing suit. FALSE. Use that information and relate it to your swimsuit. For example, if you know a V neck is your ideal neckline, choose a suit with a plunging top. If you’re petite and have short legs, choose a bottoms that are higher waisted or a one piece that is cut higher on the legs to give the appearance of longer leg.
If after all of this, you still need help, I got you girl. Set up a time with me and we can talk about you and see if my services are a good fit!
