Misconceptions of working with Me

Misconceptions of working with Me

If I had a dollar for every time I heard ‘Oh, what you do sounds so cool! I would love to work with someone like you, but I can’t afford that’ I would have a small fortune. Honestly, working with a wardrobe professional saves you money, so I thought, why not bring to you the most common misconceptions I hear in regards to hiring a wardrobe consultant and give my 2 cents on them. Lets go :)

  1. I can’t afford to pay you AND buy new clothes. I get it, it can seem like a lot, but think about how much money you are wasting on buying the wrong clothes or even on clothes that never get worn! Working with an image consultant doesn’t have to be this massive Clueless style shopping spree. Yes, investing in hiring me is an investment in yourself, but I do offer payment plans, and we can shop in sessions verses one massive haul. On top of that, I pride myself in finding great deals and guiding you on the best wardrobe items that have value.

  2. You would be appalled at my closet. Trust me, I’ve seen it ALL. While yes, all closets are different, they’re really not though. We’ve all got things stashed in hidden corners. Nothing surprises me and I CERTAINLY DON’T JUDGE.

  3. If I you audit my closet I’ll have no clothes left. I promise you’ve got some great gems in there! But on the flip side of that, what is the point of a closet filled of duds? Its like a pantry filled with gross snacks! How frustrating! Will we get rid of clothes in an audit? Yes. Will you be left with only the best, most flattering pieces? Yes. Will it be liberating and amazing? YES!

  4. I need to loose 10 LBS before I can work with you. Why do we as women torture ourselves into telling us we’re not worthy of self care without physically changing ourselves first? Its twisted, but on top of that, when you are dressed in the right clothes for YOU, you will LOOK 10 LBS thinner!

  5. My body/style doesn’t resonate with yours, will you know how to dress me? Its my job to be impartial to colors/prints/personal style. What I like for myself may not be what you like, and that’s ok! Its my job to educate you on what looks best on your body and guide you to make choices that resonate with your personal style and lifestyle. This is the reason I take the time to get to know my clients so well. In this I can make connections from clothing to your lifestyle- for example, these shoes would be great for commuting to work as well as casual weekend looks. When it comes to body shape, I’ve had clients of all sizes so whatever situation you have going on that you think is ‘so hard to dress’, I’ve seen it and mastered it.

Ready to get started? I’m ready to work with you :)
